Breckenridge

We went to Breckenridge for several days to see Gina and James. One of the highlights of the trip was our water taxi ride on a pontoon boat from Frisco to Dillon across Lake Dillon. Gina and James kayaked while we were on the boat. It is so pretty in the mountains in the summer. I wish we were able to spend more time there.

Kayla

I thought this was a good picture of Kayla. I can't believe how big she is getting and that she will be starting Kindergarten in a few weeks. I think she is ready to start school as she has been driving us crazy around the house lately. The extra stimulation of school will be good for her!

Here's a picture of Kayla from Mckinley's b-day where she actually had her hair done. She looks so cute, but she will NOT let me anywhere near her with a curling iron.

Boating

We spent Saturday at Kinney Reservoir near Rangely, Colorado (about 90 miles north of here). It was a great day. The sun was out, the water was warm, and the company was good. Chloe continued in her dare-devil ways by tubing and screaming "A little bit faster!" the whole time and jumping off the boat to swim. Kayla had fun taking pictures of the boys catching fish.

More MN

Here are a few more pictures from Minnesota that I just downloaded from my camera. We still think Chloe looks like my dad!

Land of 10,000 Lakes

Minnesota is known as "Land of 10,000 Lakes," and today we experienced a number of the lakes. We started off by fishing. We caught about 7 sunfish, using popcorn and corn-on-the-cob as bait. Luckily we had Grandma with us to take the fish off the hook - the rest of us were too scared to touch the fish. Next we went to the beach. Kayla did a little "scuba diving" - she would go underwater and the fish would swim right into her goggles. We then walked to a beautiful garden by the lake and had lunch at an outdoor cafe. Last, but not least, we went out on a peddle boat and peddled through 3 lakes. Kayla was a bit scared to try the boat at first, but ended up loving it. Chloe had the best seat on the boat - the rocking put her right to sleep.

Aunt Gina

Gina arrived from NYC yesterday. Of course, she came with lots of homemade gifts for the girls, including dress-up clothes and bridal veils. The girls love spending time with their aunt.

Here's the Children's Museum

Why can't we have this kind of thing in Grand Junction? I guess then it would not be so special when we get to visit when we are in Minnesota.
