Moab Half Marathon

On St. Patrick's day, a group of us participated in a 1/2 marathon down a beautiful canyon leading into Moab, Utah. The weather was HOT and sunny, unlike the cold temps we had gotten used to running in this winter. As you can see, we all had matching shirts with our "Frunners" logo on the front.

Flowers

For all of the gardeners in our family (Grandma, Grandma Keith, and Baba), here are a couple of pictures of our daffodils and crocuses (croci?) in front of our house. We also have some blooming in back. We can't wait to have more flowers and might take a trip to the nursery this weekend to see what's available.

Sarah's Visit

This week we enjoyed a visit from my childhood friend, Sarah Ruvelson. She came all of the way from Minnesota to see us! The weather was beautiful (despite what you see in the pictures) and we had fun showing her some of the picturesque hikes in our area. These photos were taken near the top of the Colorado National Monument. As we were dropping Sarah off at the airport this morning, Kayla asked, "Why does Sarah have to go home today? I want her to stay longer." Every day feels especially fun and festive when guests are visiting. Who will be our next visitor??

Post Haircut

Pre-Haircut

Today I brought the girls to get haircuts. I pulled them in the trailer behind the bike into town, which they love. However, that trailer is getting a bit heavy for me to pull. I think we need to get one of those bikes that attaches on to the back of my bike for Kayla to ride on. The weather is still nice and the girls like wearing their new summer outfits.

Gardening Time

The warm weather has made us excited to start a garden. Kayla has a green-thumb and loves flowers and digging in the dirt. Kayla and Andy planted a bunch of seeds while Chloe watered the tulips and daffodils that are already coming up. We have big plans for our garden (both vegetable and flower). Hopefully we will be able to follow through on these plans. Notice how Andy likes to wear his best clothes for gardening. Also notice how it is only March and it is already too hot for Gracie! She is in for a looong, hot summer!

Breckenridge

We had a great trip to Breckenridge to visit my parents and some of their friends. Kayla is a snow-girl and loves playing in the snow. She says that winter is her favorite season. In this respect, she is the polar-opposite of her mom. Chloe was a little overwhelmed that the snow was deeper that she is tall. She also did not like being cold, unlike her big sister. I will post more photos of this trip later.

Spring is here!

We spent several hours at the park today. The weather was in the 60's and it feels like spring is here. The girls like to feed the ducks and fish in the park's pond. Chloe is happy to run around and go down slides, while Kayla has just figured out how to cross the monkey bars by herself. I better get going on my housework...this blogging takes up lots of time and is great for procrastination!

Our trip to Arizona

In January, we took a trip to Phoenix to visit family and so that I could run in the Phoenix Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon with a group of friends from Colorado. Some of the Grandma Keith's 75th birthday, visiting the train park and zoo, playing with cousin Cara, climbing Camelback Mountain (at least part of the way up) and visiting with Grandma and PopPop from Minnesota

Our Family

Our family includes Andy, Suzy, Kayla, Chloe, and the dogs - Henry and Gracie. This picture was taken in the fall of 2006 near our home. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful area.
