Getting Crafty

Today the girls and I went shopping for a new Christmas wreath since we can't find our old wreath (and even if we did find it, the old wreath was a hand-me-down from the '70's). Anyways, it was time for a new wreath. We headed to Michael's and in a moment of insanity, I thought it would be fun to make our own wreath. I let the girls pick out the decorations and then we went home to put it together. The most difficult part was figuring out how to tie a bow, after we got that down, it only took about 10 minutes. I'm sure it I would have spent more time and didn't have quite so much "help," it might have turned out better. But, it was a fun project for us to do together and it didn't turn out that bad.

Getting ready for Christmas

We spent Thanksgiving weekend decorating our tree.

We also went to Aspen for a night, where the girls were able to try iceskating for the first time. Andy and I also hiked Smuggler, which is one of our favorite hikes.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Lynn family. The food was delicious, the kids had fun together, the husbands enjoyed watching football, and Kami taught me a new game, Rummikub, that I can't wait to play again. In a word, the day was relaxing.

Princesses

Kayla had a few friends over the other day. They were quietely playing in her room and then they all emerged dressed as princesses. Gracie loves this kind of thing. Henry would rather be fetching.

Boston College

The other day while running, we were having a little debate on how pretty our colleges were. I think BC has an exceptionally pretty campus, so I thought I would post a few pics. You Boston Marathoners (Kellie and Michelle, that's you!), will have a chance to run right by the school...just as you're coming to the top of Heartbreak Hill. I wish I could go watch you run! Grandma and PopPop's visit

We were fortunate to have my parents come to visit for Halloween. It was my mom's 60th birthday and the trip was one of her presents. We had so much fun while they were here and it is always sad to see them go. I love to watch the girls and see how much they enjoy being with their grandparents and the girls enjoy all of the special attention (a.k.a. spoiling) they receive too. Some of the highlights of the visit include Halloween of course, beautiful weather and time spent at the park and hiking, and going to see the Bee movie. Times like these make me wish we lived closer to family.

Halloween

We had a fun-packed Halloween. It all started on Monday night when we carved our pumpkins. The girls were especially proud of our one lone pumpkin that we grew in the backyard. The festivities continued with a Halloween party at Kayla's kindergarten, trick-or-treating around town, friends over for dinner, trunk-or-treating at the church, and then trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. What a whirlwind! I think I'm still recovering...eating the girls' candy is making me feel better.
